LaJolie X SMSC

At Southern Maine Skin Company, we partner with LaJolie to provide our clients with expert medical aesthetic services. LaJolie visits regularly to offer a range of injections and other medical aesthetic treatments, ensuring that our clients receive top-quality care for their cosmetic needs.

Neurotoxin

LaJolie uses Botox® , Dysport® , and Daxxify® to soften the wrinkles that develop with age. Botox®, Dysport® , and Daxxify® are all neurotoxins that can be injected into facial muscles to provide temporary improvement of moderate to severe wrinkles including crow’s feet, the frown lines between the eyebrows (the so-called “11’s”), and on the forehead. Botox®, Dysport®, and Daxxify® are prescription medications that are injected by trained, healthcare professionals as a simple, nonsurgical treatment that provides noticeable results with little to no recovery time.

Filler

The fillers LaJolie uses are composed of hyaluronic acid, a sugar found naturally in our skin that holds water and helps keep it hydrated and plump. There are various fillers to choose from depending upon what areas require treatment. LaJolie offers offer Restylane® and the Juvederm® line, including Voluma, Volbella, Ultra, and Ultra Plus, which are injected into the middle layer of skin to temporarily correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds and add volume to areas that have been depleted. Replacing the lost volume with hyaluronic acid fillers can help restore a more youthful appearance.

Kybella

Kybella (deoxycholic acid) is a manmade form of a substance made by the body that helps to absorb fats. When injected into the body, deoxycholic acid works locally by destroying fat cells under the skin. Kybella is used to decrease the amount of fat below the chin resulting in a more defined jawline.

PDO Threads

PDO threads are an effective cosmetic technique that lifts and tightens sagging skin tissues by inducing collagen production. Polydioxanone (PDO) threads are similar to sutures used during surgery and are implanted below the skin. This process results in the immediate tightening of the skin as well as eventually stimulating the production of collagen. Over the next 4-6 months, the threads are absorbed by the body but the increased collagen production maintains the effects of the threads for another 6-8 months. PDO threads also stimulate the production of elastin and hyaluronic acid, both of which are key to maintaining firm, youthful-looking skin.

Sculptra

Sculptra is an injectable that helps gradually replace lost collagen. Collagen is a fibrous protein in the deep dermis that gives skin structure and supports the functions of elastin and hyaluronic acid (HA), which helps maintain the skin's shape, while keeping it smooth and hydrated. A healthy supply of collagen makes for a more youthful-looking complexion.

SkinPen Microneedling

LaJolie performs microneedling using the SkinPen®. Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure that safely and effectively reduces the appearance of acne scarring, fine wrinkles, melasma, and other brown spots with little to no downtime. It works by creating micro-injuries that stimulate the body’s natural wound-healing process. The result is an effective remodeling of scar tissue and the promotion of collagen and elastin production while keeping the overall structure of the skin intact. We offer both microneedling with hyaluronic acid and with PRP.
